About Ted

This site is a sampling of my work. You can find my resume here.

I have a passion for creating things, for making ideas come to life, to capturing moments in time, and enjoying every new opportunity with a smile and a laugh.

I’ve invented physical products with weird names, such as: camalapse, Squid Pops, and the Backer Capper. I’ve created virtual products, including the iOS app Rememberist and over a hundred websites. My favorite all time inventions are my two kids. They are my only inventions that continually evolve.

Spurred on from a television show I produced and starred in during my college years, The Last Cut was my video production business for much of my life, where I created incredible educational, corporate, wedding, and real estate videos. I still love to create moments and movies with my children that carry on my passion for moving pictures.

From this business came my passion for photography. While some of my shots are SLR based, I mostly like to challenge myself with capturing light on my iPhone, which is always close by.

From that passion, I co-founded a company called camarush. We started by renting out sport cameras and evolved it to some of the previously mentioned inventions.

In 2021, I discovered the awesome sport of Pickleball and became quickly obsessed. So much so, that I have now become a certified Pickleball coach and give private lessons. I sometimes compete for fun in tournaments and have won medals in mixed doubles and men’s doubles. This sport is incredibly addictive, fun, and very social. I recommend that everyone try it out! Sports have been a huge part of my life. I am the commissioner and organizer of a hockey league, and still play, manage, and coach many forms of hockey. I manage a softball team and have a solid lifetime batting average, along with a bunch of catches that I think should have been on ESPN’s Plays of the Week (but were probably ridiculously funny to my teammates). I’m currently trying to improve on my 18 handicap. I coach many of my son’s teams, including baseball, basketball, hockey, and have served as Cub Scout Leader for his class. People loved my hosting of the Pinewood Derby for many years. I’m honored to have been the announcer and color commentator for live and recorded sporting events.

I sort of play guitar ok, and do my best at drums and keyboards. I have toured India with a madrigal group and have sung for Mother Theresa and the Prime Minister of India. I now have trouble keeping tune at any karaoke venue.

I have recently found that I do enjoy hiking and taking in nature in it’s pristine glory. I’m one of those guys that picks up trash on the trail to throw it away in the correct place. From this hobby, I started a website called HittingDirt.com, which gives recommendations for hiking gear and trails.

My current life goals are to keep learning and experiencing new things. If you run into me, please strike up a conversation.
